The vision of the Swigert Counseling Department is to foster capable, confident students who possess the necessary life skills to be successful in the near future, and beyond.
It is our mission to provide, within the framework of a comprehensive guidance and counseling program, support services to all students in the domains of academic, personal/social and career development. Our goal is to work in collaboration with students, parents, staff and community to advocate for and meet the diverse needs of our students and while developing life skills to be productive members of society.
|The Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy Counseling Department is committed to working with students, teachers and parents through counseling, coordinating, and consulting services. The counselor assigned will follow that student through sixth, seventh, and eighth grade. We strive to follow the ASCA National Model and Colorado Standards for Counselors. This methodology allows us to reach as many students as we can with positive guidance that helps students in all three domains: Academic, Career/College Preparation, and Social-Emotional concerns. In essence, if there is something getting in the way of a student being successful, we strive to provide tools and guidance to help remove those barriers, whatever they may be.
Student schedules, report cards, interim reports, standardized tests, parent conferences, and student registration are coordinated through the Counseling Center. Counselors consult with students, parents, and staff on issues related to school success, performance, and transitioning from one grade to another. Counseling groups, classroom guidance and individual sessions are offered to help students in a variety of situations as needed. If necessary, the counseling center will link a student or a family to an appropriate service provider.
This site will make available to students, parents and staff appropriate grade level information. It is designed as an additional resource for your convenience. If you have any specific questions or concerns please contact your appropriate grade level counselor or Counseling Center staff.
